My favorite tour company to date has now become EF Ultimate Break. I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries with them, from Costa Rica to Italy to Greece and soon Thailand. When I first started this website, one of the first things I wrote why a blog titled "Should You Travel with EF College Break", that was in May of 2015 and about five months after my first trip with them. It wouldn't be until December of 2016 that I would get to travel with (now) EF Ultimate Break again, but 2016 and 2017 are shaping up to be an amazing year of travel. With their new name, I wanted to take the time to update my feelings on EF Ultimate Break, and tell you why I think that traveling with them will always be a great idea.
1. Group travel is a ton of fun.
We need to be honest with ourselves, and realize that not everyone has a group of friends that are all itching to go travel the world right this second, but maybe you are. Maybe your friends want to travel, but just cant save up the money or aren't making enough to travel yet. Either way, you want to see the world, and you know that now is the time. Traveling with an organized group has been a great way for me to meet a lot of new friends from around the country and world, and guess what, they are all people who love to travel too. The major plus for this is that you won't be traveling alone and meeting new people at every stop in your solo adventure, or you won't be traveling with just that one friend, you're going to be meeting twenty or more people on your trip, and thats twenty chances to meet a new friend, or to meet a bunch of new friends. It lets you sit back, relax, and focus on having a good time on the trip. When you know there are other people there with you, you can find more things to enjoy.
2. EF Ultimate Break organizes everything.
While some companies only organize the tour, leaving you to book your own flights (you can do this with Ultimate Break, just choose the "land only" option), Ultimate Break will handle everything. From hotels and hostels, to a welcome and farewell dinner, to transfers, and excursions, Ultimate Break handles everything. You even get a tour director, your one stop source on the tour for tips on where to dine, and someone who will answer all of the questions you may have. Remember though, your tour director is also there to keep things moving, so when they say the bus leaves at 7:45, be there at 7:45. In the words of one of my favorite tour directors "I am your benevolent dictator" we can have fun, but the departure time is the departure time, don't be late. Having everything organized for you can be a great way to allow yourself to relax just a little more. Of course there is still a lot of free time on the tours, so your tour director will always have extra excursions for people who want something planned out already, instead of having too much free time on their hands.
3. Even your friend who cant seem to save money can go!
Your friend might have trouble saving money for a long period of time, but Im willing to bet he can save $250 a month for a payment. Am I right? If I am then your friend can go on an EF Ultimate Break trip. Book far enough out in advance and payments can be pretty low, and either be bi-weekly or monthly. This means that your friend only has to save the money for the month, so after that they won't have the money burning a hole in their pocket, but instead they will be one payment closer to wherever in the world you want to travel. If your friend is still having some trouble, be sure to check out my guide for how I saved money to travel on my EF Ultimate Break trips by clicking here!
4. It will change you.
Alot of people might be wondering why travel changing you would make a list for why you should travel with a certain tour company. Its easy though, much like traveling on your own, there is something special about traveling with a group. The shared experiences that you will have will be ones that you never forget, from whitewater rafting in Costa Rica, to a cliffside wine tasting in Greece, or a New Years party in Amsterdam. You won't ever forget the people who were there and who you shared that unique experience with. It creates a bond, and a lifetime friendship, no matter how little you speak, or how far away you live. The memories will live on forever in the photos, the videos, the blogs, and the minds of everyone that was there. Every now and then you will look back at the photos, or tell someone the story, and the names and faces of everyone there will flash back into your mind as if it were yesterday. Traveling with a group is a great way to write a few more pages in your book, the book that is your life.
EF Ultimate Break runs group travel tours for adults between the ages of 18 and 29 years old. With destinations all around the world, year round, you can go virtually anywhere you want in the world for as little as $150 down, and then the rest broken into monthly payments. After three trips with EF Ultimate Break, and one more in the near future, I can say that these are the memories that I will never forget. I think that everyone should go on a guided group tour once in their life, because while it isn't always the cheapest option, there really is nothing like it.
